Not all goulashes are created equal. Croatia’s cuisine is either Mediterranean (along the Dalmatian coast) or Central European in central regions of the country. Croatian goulash is a simpler version of its Hungarian cousin. Chunks of beef is slow cooked  in a simple broth of carrots, onion, garlic, paprika, mushrooms, and a Balkan seasoning called Vegeta.

This dish comes with creamy polenta and a cold crisp caraway seed flavored cabbage salad. Sour cream is served on the side. Gluten-Free version available with rice.

Ingredients: Beef chuck, onion, garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, bay leaf, chicken stock, Vegeta seasoning (dehydrated carrots, celery parsley, salt), carrots, white mushroom, rosemary, salt, black pepper, polenta, butter, sour cream (optional) cabbage, white vinegar, caraway seeds,  and olive oil.
