Pupusas are masa flour pouches filled with chicken and/or meat, and cheese and they pair perfectly with Curtido, a Salvadoran fermented cabbage and carrot relish with Jalapeño and red onions, and Salsa Roja, a fresh tomato-based sauce flavored with garlic, cilantro, cumin, and paprika. Edwin's pupusas are filled with ground chicken, mozzarella, and ricotta cheese, and flavored with chili ancho, cumin, oregano, orange juice, and lemon.
They are a signature dish of El Salvador.
