The food of Burma (or Myanmar) is a little more oily and a little less spicy than what we’re used to in Southeast Asia. Wettha Thayet thi Chet is Pork in green mango pickle. Pork pairs well with something tart and sweet that cuts through its richness. Pickled green mango does exactly that. Pork shoulder will be flavored with a cross-culture of spices like fish sauce, shrimp* paste, curry powder, sugar, onions, garlic, ginger, tamarind water, and the sweetness of mango. Yum! Yum!
It comes paired with jasmine rice and cabbage with cashew salad.
