Pascal's Manale is a neighborhood restaurant in New Orleans that started in a grocery store in 1913. They are famous for inventing BBQ (barbecue) shrimp in 1953, and till today, it is one of the most copied New Orleans dishes. Funnily, this dish has nothing to do with BBQ or charcoal, and there are no skewers. It is simply a magical dish that is boldly flavorful, and has a sauce that deserves the best bread or rice to be used as a sponge to soak up all that yummy flavor.
We serve this dish with rice and a side of sauteed corn, okra, and bell peppers.
Ingredients: Shrimp, black pepper, salt, red pepper flakes, dried thyme, dried oregano, paprika, bay leaves, butter, garlic, white wine, fish stock, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, bell peppers, okra, corn, and canola oil.
