Armenian Sini Mantis are small parcels of spiced ground lamb or beef surrounded by thin wheat dough wrappers. They are both addictive and filling. These Mantis are canoe-shaped open-faced dumplings with ground beef that are baked until crisp and served in a tomato broth. They are finished with a dollop of garlicky yogurt flavored with Aleppo pepper and sumac. This dish comes with a side of grilled eggplant, bell peppers, tomato, red onions, and parsley.
Ingredients: Ground beef, white onion, red onion, garlic, eggplant, bell pepper, parsley, tomato, chicken broth, hot pepper paste, yogurt (optional), paprika, allspice, Aleppo pepper, black pepper, salt, olive oil, flour, egg, and canola oil.
