Fårikål is the national dish of Norway with deep ties to Norwegian culture and traditions. The original Norwegian lamb stew recipe is most likely inspired by a similar Danish dish with duck. It is very popular to have Fårikål in autumn in Norway, as this is the time when lamb and cabbage are both readily available, and it is stew party season when many locals meet with their family and friends for dinner, enjoying this comforting dish to warm up from the chilly weather. Traditionally this dish is eaten with potatoes and a Norwegian Flatbrød. We are serving this dish with roasted potatoes.
